Precious Moments

Growing up I had to choose between flying and horseback riding and I chose flying. However, I love horses and always wish I could ride them. I have pictures of horses from local barns I visit, taken with the intention of painting them. However, my desire for painting from life overcomes my intent to paint and I keep postponing. So, when a friend approached me to commission a portrait of her horse, Precious, I gladly agreed. I drove to her farm, studied Precious, did a couple of drawings, took notes on the color and photographs. What ensued was a beautiful journey for me on understanding horses. Oh and there's a bonus!

I also get to ride Precious on the first warm day in April! Yuhooooo!!
